SEVEN-year-old champion fundraiser and Middlewich Oscar winner Amber Clayton has decided to continue her fundraising efforts by hosting a fashion show.

Amber, who has type one diabetes, has been raising money for Diabetes UK and Leighton Hospital for more than a year alongside Middlewich Tesco, and is now planning to hold an event in aid of the charity.

The event will be held at Middlewich Football Club on Sunday, July 6, between 2pm and 6pm and will see Amber hosting a fashion show, while plenty of other stalls and activities such nail painting a jewellery making, as well as a penalty shoot out.

Not only does Amber aim to raise money for Diabetes UK with the event, she also wants to create a place where children like herself with diabetes can have fun in the company others with the same condition.

Amber won the Young Citizens of the Year award at the Middlewich Oscars for her fundraising efforts which have amounted to thousands already.

Helen Clayton, Amber’s mum, said: “I’m really proud of Amber, she’s so positive about it and she just really enjoys fundraising.”

“It all genuinely comes from her, from the beginning it’s always been Amber’s idea and we just try to support her as much as we can.”

“This event should be really good because it’s the first time these kids can get together and be around other children with type one diabetes because there aren’t any support groups.”

Diabetes UK is the official charity of Tesco and the store on Wheelock Street in Middlewich has been working with Amber throughout her fundraising.

The store will be supporting Amber again by vowing to match 30 per cent of what she raises on the day.

Helen added: “The support they offer every time is fantastic and they never ask for any acknowledgement.”

Amber is asking for any donations of clothes or coat hangers and rails for the fashion show. To donate any items call The Guardian on 01606 813621.
