A MOTHER-of-three who works as a radio therapist and is completing a masters degree has lost over six stone with the help of Slimming World.

Two years ago, Hannah Wilson, of Beechfield Drive, used to avoid looking at her own reflection in the mirror.

She was sleep-deprived, lived on sugar through the day and fast food at night until news of childhood obesity statistics gave her a wake-up call.

“After having my children my weight crept up and I was the heaviest I’ve ever been to the point where I would glance at the mirror and think ‘What have I done to myself’, Hannah said.

“Having heard about the increase of childhood obesity I suddenly thought about my daughter and preventing her from having the same battles with her weight.”

After making the decision to change her lifestyle, Hannah joined the Middlewich Slimming World group and found that other people who were there for the same reasons gave her motivation.

Hannah added: “By taking part in the group you are sharing your weight loss journey with others who are in the same boat and you’re experiencing the ups and downs together so you never lose motivation.”

Losing five-and-a-half stone in the first year, Hannah had signed up with a personal trainer and was going to the gym regularly.

Hannah, 33, has lost a total of six stone,10.5 lbs through healthy eating and exercising which she is determined to keep up.

“It’s a way of life now,” Hannah added. “I’d like to lose the last half a stone which is my desired weight and then it’s just about maintaining it.”

Slimming World groups run every Tuesday at 9.30am, 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the Wych Centre. For more information contact Sarah Holdcroft on 07899694959.
