A 39-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after a drugs raid on a house in the town on October 4.

Officers swooped at an address on Honilton Way and two people were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and a third on suspicion of possessing class A drugs.
 

The man from Middlewich was charged with charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, supplying cocaine and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

He was remanded in custody to Macclesfield Magistrates on December 7, and was further remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown court on December 18 2013.

A 34-year-old old woman remains on police bail regarding money laundering.

During the search a £40,000 brand new Range Rover evoque was seized and a substantial amount of cash under the proceeds of crime act.

A third man, 41, was dealt with by way of a police caution for possession of class A drugs.
 

Sgt Penny Jones from the Middlewich Neighbourhood Policing Team, told the guardian the arrests were made as a result of the information received from the town's community.
 

"This is an excellent result which has been achieved as a result of working and listening to the local community.
 

“A lot of the work carried out tackling drugs and drug crime is done without the public knowing, but whilst utilising their information.
 

“The community only find out what has happened when the arrests and seizures are made.
 

"I would like to encourage anyone who has any information to help tackle drugs or any crime in Middlewich to contact the Middlewich NPT or alternatively Crime Stoppers, this can be done anonymously."
