A TEENAGE boy has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Middlewich last night.

The 15-year-old cyclist, named as Sam Nutsford, was involved in a collision with a car, a silver Vauxhall Insignia driven by a 52-year-old Northwich man, on King Street at around 5.20pm.

Sam, who lived close to the where the collision happened and was a pupil at Middlewich High School, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Sam was a member of Middlewich Town Football Club's U16 team and the club told the Guardian on Tuesday lunchtime they were 'devastated' by his loss.

No arrests were made and his family have been informed.

Cheshire Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting incident 751 of 12 August.
