TWO Middlewich play areas in need of improvement have been given the thumbs up from Cheshire East and will be revamped in time for the summer holidays.

Proposed plans for the Booth Lane and Moss Drive play areas were approved by Diane Owen, Parks Management Officer for Cheshire East, at a recent meeting of the Middlewich Vision Parks and Play Areas Group.

The news has been welcomed by the group after two years of lobbying and working with Cheshire East and the new play areas are scheduled to be opened towards the end of June into July.

Cllr Sonya Edwards said: “Once these two play areas are done, we can then start to work on Fountain Field, which is a much bigger project.”

The next step for the project is public consultation to get input from local children about what they want to see in the play areas.

Alison Roylance-White, Action Plan Manager of Middlewich Vision, and action group members will be in both play areas on May 4, to get feedback and ideas from residents and children.

They will be at Booth Lane play area from 10am to 11am on the Saturday and at the Moss Drive play area from 11.15am to 12.15pm.
