IT SEEMS an obvious time for a world premiere of a play called The May Queen.
But it will bring actress Cathy Tyson back to where she first started her career, at the Everyman Youth Theatre.
Stephen Sharkey has written the ensemble production, which is a brutal thriller set against the backdrop of wartime Merseyside.
The drama follows the death of Frank Donohue and his daughter, Theresa, prays for revenge on the perpetrator.
Cathy Tyson started her acting career at the theatre at the age of 17 in 1984 and, following one of her appearances in a production, she won a place at the acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company.
The show is on at the Liverpool Everyman from tomorrow, Friday, and runs until Saturday, May 26. To book tickets, contact the box office on 0151 709 4776.
