WE are replying to the interesting letter from the Beaconsfield councillor that suggested a town council in High Wycombe might not enjoy the non-political benefits suggested by a Downley parish councillor the previous week.

RE: The granting of conditional permission by Wycombe District Council to the plans for a major student village on the former CompAir site in Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe. Buckinghamshire New University aims to build 672 rooms, and there will be 33 parking spaces plus an onsite taxi rank.

WE'VE been moaning about the Eden centre in High Wycombe again, I see - mainly about parking costs, lack of disabled parking spaces, traffic problems and lastly the cold wind-blown Eden itself.

THE campaign to create a town council for the town of High Wycombe deserves to be supported and not just by its residents, but also by residents of the other areas, both urban and rural, represented on Wycombe District Council.
